Sawtooth Ridge 50M/50K: Runner update #1 (6/13/22)

The Sawtooth Ridge 50M/50K is less than a month away, and we have three quick updates to share. If any questions come to mind, let us know.

Snowly cow!

We are thrilled to report that the Cascades are holding a ton of snow. A deep, late-season snowpack in the Sawtooth Backcountry is a good thing. But it could make for some spicy conditions on race day.

There is a strong possibility that 50M and 50K runners will traverse snow at a few points along the course. Poles and sunscreen will be your friend.

Trail maintenance this weekend

A handful of us will be on the course this weekend, performing trail work alongside the Coulee Riders, a group of off-road motorcycle riders who have supported and maintained this landscape for decades. Members of the Coulee Riders will be holding down the Prince Creek aid station on race day.

We, runners, will be travelling and working on foot this weekend, focusing on lower elevation trails. Drop us an email if you’d like to join.

Looking for two more volunteers at Raven Ridge

The great folks at Cascade Endurance are hosting the first aid station, Raven Ridge, and are looking to make it a party on the mountain. Raven Ridge is a vehicle-accessible aid station at mile 8.4 of the 50M and 50K. This would be a great role for a spouse or friend who wants to see you on the course!

If you or a friend are interested in helping, from 7:00am to 10:00am, send us an email.

See you soon!
