Aid stations

Pacers can join their runner at the following aid stations:

  • Menace Falls

  • McDougal Gap

  • Blind Bull

  • Greys River

  • Grizzly Basin

If a pacer joins a runner at Grizzly Basin, they must stay with their runner until the finish — a total of 21 miles. Pacers cannot exit at Strawberry Creek.

Special accommodations

A runner may have a pacer join them at any point during the race, including from at the start, if they request a special accommodation. Please email the race director, Denis Cook, if you would like a pacer to join you before Menace Falls.

Along the same lines, a runner may request more than one pacer at a time.

Pacers must wear a bib

Pacers must wear a bib. Runners will receive a pacer bib at check-in, and it’s their responsibility to give it to their pacer(s). Runners will only receive one pacer bib.

Parking

We want to limit the number of cars parked at aid stations, many of which have virtually zero parking. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate pacers getting dropped off at aid stations.

Under no circumstances may pacers leave a vehicle at the following aid stations:

  • Blind Bull

  • Greys River

  • Grizzly Basin

Required gear

Pacers, like runners, must carry required gear — including a can of readily accesible bear spray. Our mandatory gear list is here.

Rules

We have rules specifically for pacers. Read them on our rules page.

Food and drink at aid stations

Pacers are more than welcome to consume the food and beverages available at aid stations — dig in!
