Live tracking

Each runner must carry a Garmin GPS tracker, which will provide close-to-real-time tracking. This will allow friends and family (and race management) to see how you’re doing. We will also manually track runners with good ol’ fashion bib numbers. Keep in mind, GPS technology is far from perfect.

Why runner tracking? Because there are a number of cross-country sections along the course that require runners to navigate without an obvious trail. If you lose the trail, we want to be able to find you.

Tracking link available about one week before race day

We will post a link to the live runner tacking website about one week before race day. Feel free to share the link with friends and family. However — and this a big however — be sure your friends and family understand the limitations of a GPS-enabled tracking system.

Be patient and take the tracking data with a grain of salt

If you’re following along at home, please remember GPS technology is imperfect. 15- to 30-minute delays are common. Runners disappearing entirely, at least according to the GPS tracker, happens throughout the event.

If you’re concerned about your runner, please wait at least two hours before emailing the RD. (Even if you reach out, you should not expect a timely response.) Keep in mind, race management is seeing what you’re seeing and will act accordingly.
