We've always given 100% refunds. We updated our policy to reflect this.

Since we started managing races “professionally” three years ago, we’ve issued somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 full — less UltraSignup’s $1 refund fee — refunds. (Canceling every event in 2020 due to COVID-19 accounted for 98% of this figure.) In fact, we’ve only not given a complete refund once: a runner asked for a refund, via email, about an hour into the event. Still, we gladly mailed their race shirt to them and covered shipping.

With that in mind, we decided to update our refund policy to align with what we’ve actually been practicing over the past three years. It’s simple: “We’ll issue runners a 100% refund, less UltraSignup’s $1 refund fee, upon request.”

That’s it.
